2024年1月29日，用户 aholyman 在 WatZatSong 上传了这首歌的新片段，声称来自一个名为 “CountryLIVE” 的zip文件，并提供了歌曲文件的属性信息。之后整首歌被上传到 Vocaroo。不到3个小时后，这首歌就被确认为 Templeton Thompson 的《This One’s Gonna Fly》。

= 骗局 =

2024年2月23日，Reddit 用户 thenormmalelevator32 发现，Kerlo 在发布最初的片段的前几天就听过 Templeton Thompson 的歌。Kerlo 之后承认他伪造了整个事件，这意味着 “Above The Clouds” 是一个被证实的骗局，因为 Kerlo 一直非常清楚他在找的歌曲是什么。<sup>[#footnote-1 1]</sup><ref>https://www.reddit.com/r/Lostwave/comments/1ayawve/above_the_clouds_is_a_hoax_we_got_played/</ref>
