Digital Girl 是一首被證實為惡作劇的假「失傳歌曲」。

起源

2023年9月30日,WatZatSong用戶haditonvinyl上傳了這首歌的低音質樣本。他表示他在其叔叔製作的混音CD「Techno Mix」中發現了這首歌。他說:「聽起來像是90年代或21世紀初的,類似於《Barbie Girl》。」「在我爸爸的舊CD上找到了類似的音樂,但沒有這一首。」[1][2]

同日晚些時候,他在Vocaroo上發布了一個更長的片段。當他被問及歌詞時,他說:「就歌詞方面我已經儘可能到處搜索過了,但沒有結果。」

2023年10月3日,haditonvinyl說他有一個音質更好的版本,這個版本最終於2023年12月26日被發布。

當後來在歌曲的元數據中發現FL Studio時,一些人懷疑這首歌是一個騙局,但haditonvinyl說這是因為他使用FL Studio來轉錄CD,這使得騙局的指控略有平息。

搜索歷史

2024年3月16日,haditonvinyl帶來了更多關於這首歌的信息。據說他的叔叔設法與在馬拉加的一個人才小組的一些藝術家取得了聯繫,這些人確信他們曾經將整首歌保存在舊的驅動器上。

之後,一份2012年的歌曲列表被發現,其中有一首署名「emails」的名為《Lost In The Code》的歌曲。

2024年4月3日,Reddit用戶AdvantStory在他父親從一位老同事那裡得到的收藏中發現了一張有同樣的「emails」的CD,並懷疑他們可能是同一位藝術家。後來,他們發布了一段播放這張CD的視頻,儘管歌曲聽起來很相似,但很明顯上面並沒有Digital Girl。

僅僅50分鐘後,用戶NotSureHowBigYouAre回應了這篇帖子,說他在Soulseek網站上發現了AdvantStory的CD上的歌曲,其中兩首歌曲是「emails」的。

一些人調查這個叫NotSureHowBigYouAre的帳號,發現該帳號曾閒置了五年,他的個人資料中有一個之後被刪除的名為「OnVinyl」的帖子。這之後,出現了越來越多的指向惡作劇的線索,包括hadinonvinyl的講述中給出了3個相互矛盾的錄音日期,還有Instagram上的「emails」帳號曾換過5次用戶名。

4月4日,藝術家「emails」通過電子郵件確認了Digital Girl是他的歌曲的demo,並將完整版的demo和成品《Lost In The Code》,以及專輯「Digital World」中的其他幾首歌曲一起上傳到了YouTube。社區對此感到滿意,認為這首「失傳歌曲」已經被發現了。

然而,haditonvinyl之後迅速承認了《Digital Girl》是一場騙局。這首歌全部都是haditonvinyl創作的,他使用了「emails」這個名字作為別名。並稱這是一場「社會實驗」。4月6日,WatZatSong的原始求助帖子也被刪除,進一步證明了其虛假。[3][4]

後續

這首歌曲被解決的幾個月後,Reddit用戶u/ThatPlant4695在r/DigitalGirl板塊發布了《Digital Girl》的「完整版」,並聲稱這首歌是由一位名叫Dj Frenchie的藝術家創作的,於2010年發行。但隨後這一說法被拆穿了,他發布的「完整版」實際上是用AI對這首歌曲進行的擴展創作。emails稱,如果這個惡作劇者繼續發布相關內容,將採取法律行動[5]

後來,haditonvinyl發布了關於《Digital Girl》的完整故事 [6]

說實話,我壓根沒料到會引發這樣的反響。《Digital Girl》是我早年一個未完成的項目,當時我給一位熟人播放舊 demo 時,對方聽到了這首歌。他讓我放下手頭所有事,先把這首做完。

因為他知道我 remix 的《Come Back》,所以對Lostwave有所了解,於是就萌生了用這首歌偽造一首「LW」的想法。我其實對《Digital Girl》沒太在意——就像我說的,這是 2019 年的廢棄項目,當時我剛買了 Digitech Talker 效果器,開始用它製作聲碼器歌曲。所以我隨口答應了,沒覺得這能掀起什麼波瀾。這首歌既沒那麼特別,也不像《Fond My Mind》或《EKT》那樣有話題度。

當時分工是我負責音頻相關的工作,他來編造故事。我特別不擅長構思這些,就全交給了他。那些帳號我一個都沒權限(我只有一個舊 Instagram 帳號,後來忍無可忍想按自己的方式發布歌曲時,才把用戶名改成了emails)。

你們知道為什麼過了這麼久才發布嗎?因為它根本沒做完。2019 年我構思的版本,大部分文件都丟了,包括聲碼器的原始錄音。我本想把整首歌從頭到尾重製一遍,免得聽起來太糟糕,但他一直威脅施壓,逼我保留原樣,只做些新的混音和完整的開頭/結尾。後來發布的《Lost In The Code》版本就是這麼來的,它本應是最終成品。按理說,沒人該聽到那個粗糙的片段,一切都太倉促、太混亂——因為他就想靠這個在網上博眼球。他還打算等《Digital Girl》爆火、「火遍全網」後,以我的「策劃人/經紀人」自居,把所有功勞都攬在自己身上。

可事情根本沒按他的劇本走。他急於求成,編了一堆漏洞百出的瞎話,結果搞砸了,卻把爛攤子丟給我收拾,讓我去善後。現在倒好,突然所有帳號都歸我管了,我還成了「這事兒唯一的幕後推手」。

為什麼我沒在直播里說這些?因為當時他就跟我在一起。那段日子對我來說就是活地獄:他對這破事投入得太深,甚至會在我家門外蹲守,等我出門。我花了將近 1000 美元租錄音棚、買設備,就為了在發布 demo 前至少讓混音聽起來像樣點——結果大家還是都不喜歡,這虧我認了。

不過現在,我已經搬到很遠的地方,和他徹底斷了聯繫。過去幾個月里,我也一直在採取法律行動,追回屬於我的東西(幕後還有很多你們不知道的事,因為性質更嚴重、也更私人,我就不細說了)。現在事情基本解決了,我終於能站出來把前因後果說清楚,不用再擔心他出現搞事。

信不信隨你們,我已經不在乎了。你們被蒙在鼓裡這麼久,就算有人說我在扯謊,我也能理解。我後來繼續用emails這個帳號發布內容,是因為我終於有機會把自己一直沒勇氣分享的音樂,帶給真正喜歡它的聽眾。我特別討厭成為焦點,所以之前的項目和化名我都沒宣傳過——我做音樂一直是為了自己,為了開心,從沒想過要靠這個博關注。

我讓那些人「找份工作去」,其實就是想讓那些執著於扒我所有信息的人趕緊滾蛋,把時間花在有意義的事上,而不是盯著一個在網上做音樂的人不放。有意思的是,有些人把這事兒看得也太嚴重了——說到底,除了浪費了一些人的時間,什麼都沒損失。不管怎麼說,你們最終還是聽到了這首歌,哪怕背後是個騙局。

我明明和那些瞎編的故事沒多大關係,卻收到死亡威脅、還被人試圖人肉搜索,這真的很煩人,所以我才會用開玩笑的方式回懟那些噴子。網上還有人說要「公開處刑」我,還有些被害妄想的帖子說我有好多小號,就為了給自己刷好感。笑了,我既沒那個時間,也沒那個閒心幹這種事。我現實生活里有一大堆事要忙,建假號給自己貼金也太蠢了。

還有人說我偽造自殺、扮演死人?那個 BigYouAre 帳號是我 13 歲左右註冊的。所有人都覺得這是個「ARG」,但我根本不知道之前用這個帳號的人真的自殺了。我用它只是因為這是個現成的帳號,之前還在「Lostwave」的論壇發過帖有積分,這樣我發的內容就不會被刪(結果好像還是被刪了)。

對於那些因為被耍得團團轉而真心感到不爽的人,我真的很抱歉。浪費了你們的時間,我知道這很不公平。因為法律原因,還有很多事我現在沒法說,但希望這些話能解答大家的大部分疑問。我不是來求原諒的,也不是要博同情——我的事已經解決了,我現在過得很好。網上的事我也不放在心上了,要噴就噴,無所謂。

我只是想把事情的來龍去脈說清楚,解釋為什麼哪怕是個騙局,也有這麼多漏洞。真希望大家能趕緊翻篇,這事兒沒那麼複雜——說到底,它只是一首歌而已,沒必要這麼執著。我會繼續過好我的現實生活,等一切準備就緒,就把原版混音之類的內容發出來。

Realistically, I didn't expect there to be such a reaction like this. Digital Girl is an older project of mine that was never finished, and someone I know in person heard it while I was playing old demos for them. They said to drop everything I was doing and finish that. They were already familiar with lostwave since they knew about my Come Back remix, so the idea formed in their head to make a fake lostwave with this song. I didn't really care for DG. Like I said, it was a scrapped project from like 2019 when I first got my Digitech Talker and started making vocoder songs with it. So, I said sure. I didn't think much would come from it. The song wasn't all that special nor crazy like Fond My Mind or EKT. My task was to handle the audio stuff, and they would handle the story. I am shit with coming up with that stuff, so I just let them do their thing. I didn't have access to any of those accounts (all I had was an old instagram that I ended up using later when I changed the user to emails once I got fed up and wanted to release it on my own terms). Do you know why it took so long to release? Because it was never finished. The concept I made in 2019 and most of those files are lost, including the original recordings of the vocoder. I wanted to remake the entire song from beginning to end so it wouldn't be so dogshit, but they kept pressuring me with threats and made me keep it as is, with some new mixing and a proper intro/outro. This is why the "Lost In The Code" version came out. It was what was SUPPOSED to be the final. No one was supposed to hear that crappy snippet in the first place. Everything was rushed and messy because they wanted internet clout. They wanted to come out as my "curator/manager" and take credit for everything once Digital Girl blew up and was "everywhere." But that never happened. They rushed it, made up the worst possible bullshit stories, and when it backfired, left me to do damage control and handle it. Now suddenly I have access to all the accounts and I was "the only person behind this". Why didn't I just say this on stream? Because they were there with me. Every day was a living hell for me. They were too invested in this whole thing and would camp outside my house waiting for me to come out. I spent almost $1k in studio time and equipment because I just wanted the mix to at least sound decent before I released the demo (which everyone ended up hating, so that's an L I'm taking). But anyway, I have since then moved far away and cut all contact. I've also been taking legal action for the last few months and getting my stuff back (There's a lot more behind the scenes you guys don't know about, that I won't bother talking about since it's more serious and it's personal). Now that everything is pretty much resolved, I can come out and explain the entire situation without fear of them showing up and doing something. Whether people believe it or not, I don't care anymore. Y'all have been lied to beyond belief, so I dont blame the people who say this is bullshit. I continued emails because I had a chance to release music that I was always shy about to an audience who actually enjoyed it. I absolutely despise being in the spotlight, which is why I never bothered to promote any of my last projects or aliases. I always made music for myself and for fun. Publicity was never it for me. Telling people to get a job is my way of telling people who are obsessed with finding every little thing about me to fuck off and do something valuable with their time instead of worrying about some dude making music on the internet. It really is kinda funny how serious some people take this whole situation. Nothing was lost but some people's time. At the end of the day, yall still got to hear the song, even if it was just a hoax story. Getting death threats and doxxing attempts made on me when I didn't have much to do with the bs story has just been annoying, so that's why I just jokingly clap back at trolls. Posts on here calling for my public execution and overly paranoid posts saying I have more alts on here to make myself look good. Lol, I dont have the time nor the care to do that. I have a ton of stuff going on outside of the internet, so making fake accounts to give myself a good rep is silly. Also, something about me faking suicide or roleplaying as a dead guy? I made that BigYouAre account when I was like 13. Everyone thought the entire thing was an ARG. I had no idea there was a guy behind it who actually committed suicide. I only used that account because it was an existing account with karma that previously commented on the lostwave sub, meaning my posts wouldn't get taken down (I think they did anyways). For the people who were genuinely upset about being sent on a goose chase, I truly do apologize. It wasn't fair to have your time wasted, I get that. There's so much to this that I can't speak about atm due to legal reasons, but I hope this clears up most of the questions people had. I'm not asking for forgiveness or for anyone to feel bad for me. My situation has been dealt with, and I'm doing just fine. I don't worry about online stuff either, so the hate can keep coming, that's okay. I just wanted to at least explain wtf went on and why there are so many holes, even for a hoax story. I just hope people move tf on from this, it's not that deep. It's just a song at the end of the day. There's no need to be so fixated on it. I'm going to keep doing my thing IRL and release the original mix and whatnot once everything is ready.」
