概要
該歌曲最早在2013年10月6日被上傳到onlyvibe.com，這是該歌曲已知首次出現在網際網路上的日期。一天後，用戶Samira Korcheni將歌曲上傳到YouTube，其聲稱從一個名為ILoveRNBMusic.com的網站下載了這首歌，該網站於這首歌首次出現在網際網路前一個月關閉。同一天這首歌也被傳到網站world76.spcs.bio上，文件的詳細信息顯示其原始來源是PrimeMusic.ru，但《One Love》首次出現在該網站的時間是10月8日。
這首歌在網際網路上逐漸流傳開來，被傳到幾個小眾MP3下載站，並於2014年11月在印尼一家名為Memora radio的廣播電台播放，然而他們均錯誤地認為這首歌是由巴貝多樂隊Cover Drive演唱。Cover Drive一再否認與這首歌有任何關係。

Reddit上OneLoveUnknownSong版塊的管理員認為這首歌來自加拿大，特別指出Kristina Maria可能是這首歌的歌手。也有人認為這首歌由歌手兼創作者Krysta Youngs創作，但她本人並不知道這首歌。
據推測，這首歌的歌手可能是加勒比人或加勒比黑人，因為Cover Drive來自巴貝多（加勒比海國家），所以聽起來與之相似的歌手可能同樣來自加勒比海國家。

2024年8月30日，這首歌作者被確定為Camille Purcell。該歌曲為她2014年的專輯《Only Human》中未發行並被洩露的的歌曲demo《One Love》。
